All Pronouns

Hi Loves! I am the owner creator of BodyMind Autonomy and teach the classes.

BodyMind Autonomy is our love letter to the disabled and queer communities. We cut through the wellness noise to share the exact tools we had to discover to survive—and ultimately, to build a foundation to thrive!

My hope with this page is that you will understand me better and the space I hold hope to hold for you <3

Our Disabilities

We navigate the world with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Bipolar 2, CPTSD, and acute digestive dysregulation. Because DID means we experience life as a team rather than a single individual, we use plural pronouns (we/our/us).

Forged in Survival

Our qualifications are our lived experiences. Over the last decade, we have survived:

  • Medical Trauma: Four surgeries, multiple complications, and over three years spent entirely in surgical recovery.

  • Psychiatric Crisis: Surviving suicidality, crisis housing, and years of intensive psychiatric hospitalization and outpatient programs.

  • Systemic Gaslighting: Navigating life-altering, bed-bound digestive issues that specialists could confirm, but neither diagnose nor treat.

Reclaiming Autonomy

We are now a small business owner. Where the medical system hit a wall, we built our own path. We engineered the diet that finally healed our gut. We directed our own physical rehabilitation. We went from being completely bedridden and requiring 30 hours of psychiatric care a week, to hiking, carrying heavy loads, teaching conditioning classes and creating BodyMind Autonomy!

The BodyMind Lens

My lived experience demonstrates there is no separation between human bodies and minds. This makes us the perfect teacher and creator of a BodyMind practice that integrates mental and physical health.

The Lens In Class:

  • Performance vs Process: There is no wrong or right way to practice. All bodies are different. We won't teach you how to perform a movement. We focus on teaching the process of practice, so you learn how to adapt the movements to your body.

  • Fluctuating Capacity: Everyone has different capacities and every day those capacities change. You'll be given options within every practice/ movement. You can scale your participation based on your current state, whether that means napping as your practice or conditioning your muscles.

What is BodyMind Autonomy

What It Is: BodyMind Autonomy is the right to direct your own MentalPhysical state. Autonomy gives us the agency to survive AND build a foundation upon which to grow.

What We Actually Do:

  • Functional Conditioning: We teach whole-body strengthening that mimics and supports everyday life. You’ll practice movements like squatting to make sitting down and standing up easier.

  • Internal Resourcing: You learn breathing and mindfulness tools for grounding. This isn't about forcing yourself to feel calm while sitting still. Internal resourcing is about recognizing your bodymind's state and having the trauma-informed tools to engage with it.

What You Get Out Of It: Your daily activities become easier and are opportunities to strengthen your body for long-term longevity. You learn to communicate with your nervous system through tools to settle or excite it. BMA gives you the tools to build your BodyMind into a source of agency and liberation.
